AG files 39 new charges against NAM1

Nana Appiah Mensah, widely recognised as NAM1, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the now-defunct gold dealership company Menzgold Ghana Limited, is facing new legal action as the Attorney General’s Department has brought forth fresh charges against him.
On Wednesday, August 30, 2023, a total of 39 new charges were formally filed at the Accra High Court.
These charges extend not only to NAM1 and Menzgold but also include his defunct enterprise, Brew Marketing Consult.
The charges encompass various offenses, notably the accusation of defrauding individuals through false pretenses. This particular allegation falls under Section 131(1) of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).
The legal proceedings have now entered a new phase with these additional charges, marking a significant development in the case against NAM1 and his associated companies.
The Accra High Court will oversee the forthcoming legal proceedings related to these charges.
