Apaaso murder: I'm guilty – Suspect

The prime suspect in the murder of 35-year-old businesswoman Princess Afia Ahenkan in Apaaso near Sokoban within the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly of the Ashanti region has confessed to the crime during a court hearing.
The main suspect, identified as Allister John, worked as a security guard for the deceased. He was apprehended along with an accomplice named James Anokye on September 14, 2023, through a targeted intelligence-led operation. The police revealed that the two suspects went into hiding after the crime and sold the deceased’s KIA Sportage private car, registered under GS 307-21.
Subsequently, the police located the vehicle at Adenta, along with its documentation, and impounded it at the Oyibi Police Station for further investigation.
Both suspects were presented before the Asokore Mampong district court on September 15, 2023, and have been remanded until their reappearance in court on October 3, 2023.
During the court hearing, the facts of the case were presented, indicating that the alleged act was a conspiracy involving a total of five individuals, including the two remanded suspects. The prosecution mentioned that efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining three suspects, who are currently at large.
While the suspects did not enter a plea, the prime suspect, Allister John, admitted to the crime, taking full responsibility for his actions. He requested leniency from the court after the facts were presented.
In light of the ongoing investigation, the prosecution requested the court to remand the suspects, allowing the police to conduct further inquiries into the matter.
