Court slams Angel Asiamah with GHS12,000 fine
Angel Asiamah, the husband of evangelist Nana Agradaa, has walked free from court after a plea bargain was approved in the case involving Osofo Appiah Biblical.
As part of the agreement, the court imposed a fine of GHS 12,000 on Asiamah and his co-accused and ordered them to pay compensation of GHS 50,000 to Osofo Appiah Biblical.
The ruling effectively brings a pause to a protracted legal battle that has attracted widespread public attention over the years.
The case stems from events in 2021, when Osofo Appiah Biblical accused Nana Agradaa and her associates of broadcasting his private and sensitive images on Thunder TV, now rebranded as Today TV.
He claimed the broadcast caused serious reputational harm and emotional distress, leading to the court action.
In approving the plea bargain, the court noted that the agreement prioritised restitution and amicable settlement rather than an extended trial.
Angel Asiamah was subsequently seen leaving the courtroom peacefully after the decision.
The outcome represents a major turning point in the long-running and highly publicised dispute between the two religious figures, which has unfolded both in the courtroom and in the public arena since it began
