E/R: Four Arrested over deadly shooting incident at Asiyaw, near Nsawam
The Eastern South Regional Police Command has arrested four individuals in connection with the murder of five people following a violent confrontation at Asiyaw, near Akwane-Dobro in the Nsawam municipality of the Eastern Region.
The suspects—identified as Samuel Atsu Forson, alias Alanyo, Freeheart Kweku Sedonu, Kwesi Prince, and Benjamin Adzalekor—were apprehended from their various hideouts during a coordinated police operation.
The arrests follow a fatal shooting incident that occurred on April 29, 2025, during a clash between two rival groups over sand-winning activities in the area.
The incident resulted in the deaths of five individuals, sending shockwaves through the local community.
All four suspects were arraigned before the Osino District Court on May 2, 2025.
The court remanded Samuel Atsu Forson, Freeheart Kweku Sedonu, and Kwesi Prince into prison custody, while Benjamin Adzalekor was remanded into police custody.
They are expected to reappear in court on May 8, 2025.
The police have assured the public that the suspects will face justice through due legal processes and urged residents to remain calm as investigations continue.
