Police arrest 2 more suspects in Adabraka jewellery shop robbery, seize weapons and ammunition

The Ghana Police Service has arrested two additional suspects linked to the robbery of a jewellery shop in Adabraka, recovering weapons, ammunition, and other items in the process.

The suspects, identified as Hamza 'Nene Bawku Lambert' Agerego and Alhassan 'Arab Man' Elliasu, were apprehended on January 7, 2026, from hideouts in Ashaiman. Hamza Agerego had previously been arrested and detained at the Katamanso District Police Headquarters in connection with the robbery. Acting on intelligence, police conducted a follow-up operation that led to the arrest of Alhassan Elliasu at his hideout.

During a search of the premises, officers recovered two pump-action guns, 43 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, 239 BB cartridges, four bulletproof vests, a black boot, a black face mask, two cutlasses, two Samsung mobile phones, an iPhone 13, a wristwatch, and a CCTV monitor.

Both suspects remain in police custody, assisting with investigations, and will be brought before court to face prosecution. The Ghana Police Service said it is committed to ensuring that all individuals involved in the robbery are held accountable.
