Asiedu Nketia urges patience among NDC members yet to receive appointments
The National Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has appealed to party members who are yet to receive government appointments to exercise restraint and patience.
Speaking at a meeting with party supporters in the Ashanti Region, Mr. Asiedu Nketia—popularly known as General Mosquito—explained that not all party members could be accommodated with appointments due to the limited size of government promised by the NDC during the election campaign.
He urged party faithful to make sacrifices in the collective interest of the party, noting that keeping government lean was necessary to honour its campaign pledge, even in the face of criticism from the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to him, maintaining that promise would help the party remain credible and improve its chances of staying in government beyond a single term.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia was addressing party members at a thanksgiving gathering organised to commend supporters for their role in securing over 34 per cent of the votes in the Ashanti Region during the last general election.
He assured members who have not yet received appointments that opportunities could arise later, either within the current term or in subsequent terms of an NDC administration.
The NDC Chairman also expressed gratitude to party supporters and activists for their dedication and hard work, describing their efforts as instrumental in the party’s electoral success.
