Police seize suspected narcotics hidden in a truck
The Oti Regional Police Command, acting on intelligence, intercepted and searched a DAF Long Trailer with registration number GW 1943-09 at Dambai.
The trailer, which appeared empty, was found to have been modified with secret compartments sealed with six (6) metal plates.
The hidden compartments under the trailer were opened in the presence of suspect Amidu Jubril, 40 years old.
Searching the secret compartments revealed Four Thousand (4000) parcels of compressed dried leaf substances wrapped in yellow masking tapes suspected to be narcotics, carefully hidden inside the compartments.
The truck has been impounded, and all exhibits retained for evidence.
The suspect has been detained and is assisting police with the ongoing investigation.
The Regional Police Command reaffirms its commitment to combating drug trafficking and related offences.
