Thugs vandalize Greater Accra EC office over Ablekuma North results collation

A group of irate youth has vandalized the Greater Accra Regional Office of the Electoral Commission (EC) amid tensions surrounding the collation of the Ablekuma North parliamentary election results.
The attack occurred Friday morning, just as the collation exercise—previously suspended multiple times due to chaos.
According to reports, the assailants, believed to be supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), were seen wearing the party’s branded t-shirts.
Eyewitnesses reported that the group stormed the EC office, forcibly ordering staff to vacate the premises before vandalizing properties, including louvre blades, doors, and office equipment.
While the exact motive behind the attack remains unclear, the Electoral Commission has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
Meanwhile, security personnel have been deployed to the area to restore calm and ensure the safety of electoral officials.
