Tragedy: 12-year-old boy accidentally shot by younger brother

A 12-year-old boy tragically lost his life after his eight-year-old brother accidentally discharged their father’s firearm at their home in Twifo Ashire, located in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District of the Central Region.
According to a report by Adom News correspondent Thomas Oppong, the heartbreaking incident occurred while the older brother was having a meal.
For reasons yet to be determined, the younger sibling retrieved their father’s gun, which was loaded with ammunition, and accidentally fired it while playing with the trigger, fatally striking his brother.
The incident was immediately reported to the Twifo Praso Police, who quickly responded by securing the scene and transporting the body to the mortuary.
Their father, Samuel Hegbige, a hunter, has been taken into police custody to assist with the ongoing investigation.
The tragic accident has left the community in shock, as authorities work to understand how the firearm ended up in the child’s hands.
