The Head Teacher of Atwiribaoda District Assembly (D/A) Basic School in the Assin North district of the Central Region, Wisdom Amenu, has hinted at the school getting a temporary structure for school activities to return to normalcy after a rain storm ripped off the roof of the school a fortnight ago.
According to him, the DCE for the area has delegated some officers from the assembly including the planning officer and the engineer to assess the situation which has led to pupils studying under trees at the vagaries of the weather.
The head teacher told the host of the Ghana Yensom morning show, Odehyeeba Kofi Essuman, on Accra 100.5 FM on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, that the DCE on Thursday, April 28, 2023, sent two officers to the school to assess the situation for the construction of a makeshift structure to serve the pupils.
On his part, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Assin North District Assembly, Charles Andoh Snr, has assured the teachers, parents and pupils that the makeshift stricture will be completed in no time.
More specifically, it will be completed by the end of the week, he said.
He said the assembly has also directed that a beam should be cut to provide the wood for the mounting of the structures.
“I have desks and they will also be made available to the school immediately after the structures are completed by the workmen,” he said.
