CETAG strike
The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) has declared an indefinite strike, effective Friday, June 14, 2024, due to the government’s delay in implementing the National Labour Commission’s (NLC) Arbitral Award Orders and negotiated service conditions.
The strike affects all 46 public colleges of education in Ghana and demands include payment for additional duties performed in 2022 and the application of agreed allowance rates for CETAG members.
CETAG stated the strike aims to ensure the economic rights of its members as per the 1992 Constitution and the Labour Act, 2003.
The Association in a statement instructed its members to cease all teaching and related services until their demands are met.
