Education Ministry to set up review team on Computerised School Placement System

The Ministry of Education has announced plans to constitute a technical review team to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the Computerised School Placement System (CSSPS) in a bid to enhance transparency, efficiency, and fairness in student placements into second-cycle institutions nationwide.
The Minister for Education, Alhaji Haruna Iddrisu, disclosed this during a surprise working visit to the Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School (PRESEC-Legon) in Accra.
During his visit, the Minister interacted with students, teachers, and members of the school’s management to gain firsthand insight into the conditions of teaching and learning, the state of infrastructure, and the general preparedness for the current academic term.
Commending the staff for their dedication and professionalism, Mr. Iddrisu reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure, expanding access, and strengthening systems that promote fairness and quality across Ghana’s education sector.
“We want every Ghanaian child, regardless of background or location, to have equal opportunity in the placement process.
The review of the CSSPS will be inclusive, transparent, and guided by stakeholder engagement,” he assured.
According to the Minister, the review process will bring together education managers, teacher unions, representatives of parents and students, and ICT experts to evaluate the operational framework of the CSSPS and recommend reforms where necessary.
The initiative forms part of the Ministry’s broader agenda to modernise educational administration, address public concerns about the placement process, and reinforce public confidence in one of the most critical gateways to secondary education in Ghana.
