Orphans fear work on 9-unit classroom block’ll be abandoned due to Atsu’s demise

The orphans at Becky’s Foundation in the Senya Breku Area of the Central Region are appealing to well-meaning Ghanaians to help complete the ultra-modern 9-unit classroom block started by the late Black Stars player Christian Atsu.
They are afraid work on the educational project to groom footballers will be abandoned following the demise of the celebrated footballer who died in an earthquake disaster in Turkey.
“We want well-wishers to come to the aid of the foundation by helping to complete the project,” the sorrowful orphans told the host of the Ghana Yensom morning show, Odeyeeba Kofi Essuman, on Accra 100.5 FM on Thursday, February 23, 2023, in an interview.
The Director of the foundation, Mr Seth Asiedu, for his part explained that the demise of Christian Atsu has affected the activities of the orphanage.
According to him, the late Christian Atsu adopted the school with the support of a United Kingdom-based Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), by the name Arms Around the Child.
He said the late Christian Atsu had been supportive of the activities of the foundation.
Explaining further, he said the uncompleted nine-unit classroom block has a Kindergarten, a library, and a playground among others for the use of the orphans.
