Accra-Tema motorway: Multiple-vehicle crash sparks major traffic jam

There has been a multi-vehicle collision on the Accra-Tema Motorway.
The incident involving an SUV, a saloon car, and a Toyota bus has caused significant traffic congestion on the Tema-bound side of the Accra-Tema motorway.
The accident took place on Monday, 29 July 2024, between Toyota Ghana and the Axle Weighing Station.
Authorities are advising motorists heading towards Tema to seek alternative routes to avoid lengthy delays.
The collision has resulted in a substantial bottleneck, worsening the usual rush-hour traffic.
This incident comes on the heels of a similar collision last week, which also led to heavy traffic, raising concerns about the frequency and causes of accidents on this critical motorway.
Emergency services are actively working at the scene to clear the wreckage and restore normal traffic flow.
Commuters are urged to remain patient and follow the instructions of traffic officers managing the situation.
