Chief of Staff marks GIMPA’s 65th anniversary, unveils digital governance centre
The Chief of Staff, Hon. Julius Debrah, has participated in the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), where he also unveiled the offices of the Centre of West African Studies (CWAS) for Digital Public Governance at the institution’s Greenhill campus in Accra.
The newly established centre is a collaboration between University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) and GIMPA, aimed at advancing the training of public administrators in modern communication technologies and digital governance systems.
The initiative is expected to serve as a platform for equipping public sector professionals with contemporary technological skills designed to strengthen governance, public administration, and institutional efficiency across West Africa.
As part of activities marking the launch of the centre, the Rector of GIMPA, Samuel Kwaku Bonsu, and the Director of the Centre for West African Studies at UESTC, Zhao Shurong, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to deepen academic cooperation and strengthen the partnership between the two institutions.
The agreement is expected to promote research collaboration, knowledge exchange, and capacity building in digital public governance and related fields.
