Dr. Razak Kojo Opoku criticises NPP members for praising failures

Dr. Razak Kojo Opoku, a prominent member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has openly criticised certain factions within the party for what he describes as a culture of celebrating failure and promoting falsehoods for selfish interests.
In a strongly worded statement, Dr. Opoku lamented that some party members “clap for failures,” sing praises for incompetence, and promote lies, while others defend poor economic records instead of apologising or taking responsibility.
He also condemned those who hype individuals who insult leaders of the Christian community and those who, rather than seeking reconciliation, choose to defend actions that tarnish the party’s image.
Dr. Opoku expressed concern that these behaviours come at the expense of party members who “genuinely speak truth to leadership.”
He warned that such actions are damaging the party’s credibility and alienating the Ghanaian public.
“If you care to know, the majority of Ghanaians are still extremely bitter and angry at NPP for disappointing them, especially between 2021 and 2024,” he stated.
“The truth is known, the evidence of the truth is seen, yet we are still following the lies.”
Looking ahead to the 2028 elections and beyond, Dr. Opoku called for a new approach within the NPP, emphasising the need for “truthfulness, humility, facts, data, admission of failures, apologies, and strategies” as the path to redemption and renewed public trust.
