E/R: 15 injured, 3 in critical condition in accident on Nsawam-Suhum road

There has been an accident on the Nsawam-Suhum highway.
Fifteen passengers are injured while three are in critical condition after a sprinter vehicle travelling from Kumasi to Accra crashed near Kyerewere.
Eyewitnesses reported that the driver, who was reportedly speeding, attempted to apply the brakes after realising one of the vehicle’s tyres had burst.
The sudden action caused the vehicle to lose control, veering off the road and throwing three passengers onto the tarmac.
Among the injured, one woman had her leg trapped between the car’s doors, while the remaining passengers sustained varying degrees of injury.
Emergency responders arrived swiftly, rushing three of the critically injured passengers to nearby hospitals for urgent care.
There are unconfirmed reports that the vehicle’s mate may have lost their life in the incident, but this is yet to be confirmed by authorities.
The police are on-site, managing the situation and conducting investigations to determine the full circumstances behind the crash.
