A social centre, named after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s late wife, Eleanor Akufo-Addo, has been commissioned at Mampong in the Mampong Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

The social centre, commissioned by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, marked the occasion of the 30th Anniversary celebration of the late Mrs Akufo-Addo.

The social centre has facilities including a community centre to host events, restaurant and hotel, parking lot, office space and a lift to aid visitors to access the top floor of the facility.

Delivering his address at the commissioning of the centre, President Akufo-Addo stressed the culture of maintenance and urged management of the social centre to ensure the facility stays in a good state.

He expressed hopes of seeing the facility in good shape after he revisits it and was even more optimistic that in ten years’ time it would still be in a perfect state.

President Akufo-Addo paid tribute to his late wife and Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) ‘My Sisters Keepers Foundation,’ for making available funding for the facility in memory of his late wife.
