Ghana celebrates International Women’s Day 2026 with “Give to Gain” theme
Ghana joins the world in celebrating International Women’s Day on March 8, 2026, under the theme “Give to Gain,” a call to action emphasising the power of generosity and collective support in empowering women.
The celebration highlights the importance of giving—whether through time, mentorship, knowledge, resources, or advocacy—as a strategic investment that strengthens communities and industries.
Organisers note that when women succeed, society as a whole benefits.
This year, the focus is on women in the maritime industry, with initiatives designed to promote volunteerism and a culture of giving.
Activities include mentorship programmes, such as the Go to Sea Campaign, skills and leadership training, community service projects, resource sharing, and recognition of outstanding women in the sector.
The initiatives aim to enhance professional and personal growth, build confidence, and strengthen networks within the maritime industry.
Organisers emphasise that the “Give to Gain” message is a reminder that empowering others ultimately strengthens the entire community.
Participants and stakeholders are encouraged to join efforts in supporting women in maritime, contributing to a more inclusive and resilient industry.
