Ghana’s presidential jet grounded due to extensive corrosion – Defence Minister Reveals

Ghana’s Falcon 900EX presidential jet has been grounded due to significant corrosion damage affecting vital components, including both fuel tanks and its turbofan engine.
This was disclosed by the Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, who described the extent of the damage as severe and requiring major repairs.
According to Dr. Boamah, the corrosion poses serious safety risks and has compromised the aircraft’s operational readiness.
“The damage is extensive and affects critical systems of the jet, including both fuel tanks and the turbofan engine,” he stated.
The Falcon 900EX, which has served as the country’s presidential aircraft, is now undergoing assessment to determine the full scope of repairs needed and the associated costs.
The Defence Minister assured the public that the government is exploring the most cost-effective and safe options to address the issue while ensuring that presidential travel needs are not compromised.
