Hassan Ayariga visits Bawku; calls for peace

Dr. Hassan Ayariga, founder and presidential candidate for the All People’s Congress (APC) in the 2024 general elections, visited the Kusasi and Mamprusi communities in Bawku to address current tensions and commend both sides for maintaining peace.
His visit marks the first time any political figure from Bawku has made such a gesture, aimed at fostering unity and calm in the area.
Following the launch of his campaign, Dr. Ayariga took significant steps to reduce tensions, earning a warm reception from both communities. He was entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring that peace is sustained in the constituency.
Dr. Ayariga's first stop in Bawku was a courtesy call to Zugraan, the Bawku Naba, and his kinsmen. This was followed by meetings with petty traders at the Bawku market, where he promised economic improvements under his presidency. He also visited areas dominated by the Mamprusi, including the lorry stations, timber market, and various shops and outlets.
During a formal campaign launch in Bawku, located in the Upper East Region, Dr. Ayariga addressed local chiefs and residents.
He pledged to tackle key issues such as corruption, poverty, insecurity, and mismanagement if elected president in the December 2024 general elections.
