Interior Minister opens Upper West Regional police headquarters in Wa
The Minister for the Interior, Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, has officially opened the new Upper West Regional Police Headquarters in Wa, describing the facility as a significant boost to security delivery and policing operations in the region.
The opening of the modern headquarters marks a major milestone in the government’s efforts to strengthen policing infrastructure across the country and enhance public safety.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Interior Minister said the facility reflects the government’s commitment to improving operational efficiency and professionalism within the Ghana Police Service.
He noted that a conducive working environment is critical to enabling officers to effectively perform their duties and respond promptly to security challenges.
Mr Muntaka Mubarak emphasised that the new headquarters would improve coordination, command and control, as well as service delivery to residents of the Upper West Region.
He reaffirmed the government’s resolve to continue investing in security infrastructure to meet the evolving needs of law enforcement agencies.
The new police headquarters is equipped with modern offices and support facilities designed to enhance administrative and operational effectiveness.
The event was attended by senior officers of the Ghana Police Service, regional and municipal authorities, traditional leaders, and other stakeholders, who commended the government for prioritising security development in the region.
