King Charles heartily welcomes Asantehene, wife to Buckingham Palace ahead of his coronation

The presence of the warlord of Asante, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has been acknowledged in the United Kingdom ahead of the Saturday, May 6, 2023 coronation of British monarch King Charles III.

Otumfuo and his wife Lady Julia were welcomed by the king himself to the Buckingham Palace.

The Asantehene and his wife by their travel to the UK have honoured the invitation of the Royal family, joining the company of monarchs and leaders from across the globe.

In November 2018, the Asantehene and Lady Julia welcomed then Prince Charles and wife Camilla to the Manhiya Palace in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, Ghana.

During their visit, Charles and Camilla witnessed the legendary festival Akwasidae, which celebrates the Ashanti Kingdom, its ancestors and kings among others.
