Minister of Roads and Highways inspects ongoing road projects in Greater Kumasi

The Minister of Roads and Highways, Mr. Francis Asenso-Boakye, has conducted an inspection of several ongoing road projects across the Greater Kumasi area of the Ashanti Region.
The visit forms part of the government’s commitment to improving road infrastructure and ensuring smoother transportation within the region.
During his tour, the Minister visited the Dakodwom-TUC Junction stretch of the Kumasi Western Bypass, a significant project aimed at easing traffic congestion and enhancing connectivity in the city.
The project is expected to provide a vital link between various parts of Kumasi, reducing travel time for commuters.
In the Asawase Constituency, Mr. Asenso-Boakye inspected the progress on the Kaase roads.
These roads are critical for local transportation, and their completion is anticipated to boost economic activities in the area.
The Minister also visited the bypass construction at the St. Louis Senior High School, a project designed to improve access to the school and surrounding communities.
This bypass is expected to alleviate traffic pressure in the area, making commuting safer and more efficient for students and residents alike.
In the Kwabre area, Mr. Asenso-Boakye assessed roadworks covering Mamponteng, Kenyase, and Maase Atimatim.
The improvement of roads in these communities is part of the government’s broader plan to enhance infrastructure in rural and peri-urban areas, ensuring that all parts of Greater Kumasi benefit from ongoing developments.
The inspection also included a visit to some roads in the Power Chapel enclave, located within the Kwadaso Constituency.
The Minister expressed satisfaction with the progress and emphasized the importance of completing the projects on schedule to improve access and mobility for residents.
In the Bantama Constituency, the Minister inspected several roads, including those in Bohyen, Kokoso/Asubonteng, Ohwim/Amanfrom, Abrepo, and Asuogya.
These areas are crucial residential and commercial hubs, and the road improvements are expected to enhance the quality of life for residents.
Finally, the Minister visited the Atafoa Bridge project in Bantama, which is nearing completion.
The bridge is expected to improve transportation links and provide a reliable route for the movement of people and goods within the constituency.
Mr. Asenso-Boakye reiterated the government’s commitment to accelerating the completion of these projects, stressing the importance of quality and durability in all road construction activities.
He also assured the residents of Greater Kumasi that the government would continue to invest in infrastructure development to support the region's growth and development.
