NMC summons 44 media houses over offensive content
The National Media Commission (NMC) has scheduled a meeting with 44 media houses cited for broadcasting offensive content, as part of its media monitoring initiative.
The owners of these stations are invited to a crucial discussion on the regulatory implications of their content.
The meeting is set to take place on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the International Press Centre in Accra.
The media houses expected to attend include well-known stations such as UTV, Adwenpa TV, Elephant TV, and Oyerepa TV/Radio, among others.
This move by the NMC aims to address concerns about the harmful impact of certain broadcast content and ensure adherence to broadcasting regulations.
