Parts of Accra flooded after Monday downpour

Accra, the capital of Ghana, faced yet another episode of flooding after a heavy downpour on Monday morning, 6 May 2024.
The intense rain caused severe congestion on roads, leaving countless commuters, including corporate workers, traders, students, and motorists, stranded and drenched.
In areas like Pokuase, Achimota, Odawna, Tesano, Alajo, and Kaneshie, motorists found themselves forced to seek shelter along the roadside as the rain relentlessly poured down.
The streets were filled with stationary vehicles, trapped in the gridlock of traffic while some individuals had to resort to walking to reach their destinations, dampening their spirits, as they braced for the challenges of the second week of May.
Regrettably, this scenario has become all too familiar for Accra, where even the slightest rainfall leads to inundation.
