Togbe Afede XIV urges public servants to embrace teamwork, communication and honesty for national progress
The Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, Togbe Afede XIV, has called on public service workers to uphold the values of teamwork, effective communication, and honesty as essential tools for Ghana’s national development.
Speaking at the 12th Annual Conference of Chairpersons of Governing Boards, Councils, Chief Directors, and Chief Executives of the Public Sector in Ho, Togbe Afede emphasised that these principles are deeply interconnected and critical for productivity and institutional success.
According to him, teamwork, communication, and honesty create a culture of openness, shared responsibility, and trust — elements that enhance problem-solving, morale, and overall performance across the public sector.
“Effective communication forms the foundation for successful teamwork.
It promotes understanding and collaboration, while teamwork turns ideas into collective action that drives results,” he said.
Togbe Afede XIV warned that corruption continues to hinder Ghana’s development, urging public servants to work with transparency and integrity.
He encouraged them to cultivate open-mindedness and create a safe environment where colleagues feel free to share ideas and concerns in support of the government’s national resetting agenda under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama.
The traditional leader described President John Dramani Mahama as “a better manager of the economy” who is committed to improving living standards, creating jobs, and providing a conducive working environment for all Ghanaians.
He added that the success of the President’s policies and the resetting agenda depends largely on the commitment, competence, and continuous learning of public sector workers.
Togbe Afede XIV concluded by reminding public officials that national transformation can only be achieved through collective effort, discipline, and ethical service
