Volta River Aviation helicopter makes emergency landing in Nkawkaw

A Volta River Aviation helicopter, with registration number 9G-AFW, made an emergency landing on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Nkawkaw Ampekrom in the Kwahu West Municipality of the Eastern Region.
Details surrounding the cause of the incident remain unclear, but eyewitnesses reported that the aircraft descended abruptly before touching down safely in an open area near New Generation School.
No casualties have been reported.
But the helicopter had a pilot, a technician and three Chinese nationals were en route to Kumasi.
The helicopter forced landed due to bad weather
According to Accra 100.5 FM, Nkawkaw's correspondence, the helicopter has since embarked on the journey to Kumasi.
He said the Chinese national fled the scene when the helicopter embarked on the emergency landing exercise.
