IPGG pays tribute to victims of helicopter crash

The Independent Power Generators, Ghana (IPGG), has joined the nation in mourning the loss of eight distinguished public servants and military officers who died in a military helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
In a solemn statement, IPGG extended its deepest condolences to the families of the deceased, their colleagues, and the entire nation, describing the incident as a “national tragedy” and a “stark reminder of the sacrifices made in the service of the country.”
The organisation paid tribute to the fallen:
Dr. Edward Omane Boamah – Minister for Defence
Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed – Minister for Environment
Alhaji Muniru Mohammed – Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator
Dr. Samuel Sarpong – Vice Chairman, National Democratic Congress
Mr. Samuel Aboagye – Former Parliamentary Candidate
Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala – Ghana Air Force
Flying Officer Twum Ampadu – Ghana Air Force
Sergeant Ernest Addo – Ghana Armed Forces
“These distinguished compatriots served our nation with honour, courage, and an unwavering commitment to peace, governance, and national development,” the statement read.
IPGG called on Ghanaians to honour the legacy of the deceased by embracing a renewed spirit of unity, patriotism, and purposeful leadership, echoing a broader national sentiment following the loss.
“We stand in solidarity with the nation in mourning.
May their souls rest in perfect peace,” the organisation concluded.
