Ghana Medical Trust Fund reaffirms commitment to Breast Cancer Care at ‘Seats of Strength’ event
The Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF), led by its Administrator Mrs. Obuobia Darko-Opoku, joined survivors, families, and advocates at the Seats of Strength breast cancer awareness event — an inspiring initiative founded by media personality Nana Aba Anamoah and hosted by Women of Valour.
Delivering the keynote address, Mrs. Darko-Opoku paid glowing tribute to breast cancer survivors, describing them as “symbols of courage, resilience, and hope.”
She reaffirmed the Fund’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that quality healthcare and early diagnostic services for breast cancer and other Non-Communicable Diseases are accessible to all Ghanaians.
“Our fight against breast cancer is not just about medicine; it is about restoring dignity, protecting dreams, and giving every woman a chance to live and live well,” Mrs. Darko-Opoku said.
She emphasised that the Ghana Medical Trust Fund continues to invest in early detection programmes, specialist training, and financial support for patients facing life-threatening conditions.
The goal, she said, is to ensure that “no Ghanaian should ever have to fight alone.”
The event brought together healthcare professionals, advocates, and community leaders who shared personal stories and renewed their commitment to raising awareness about breast cancer prevention and treatment.
Mrs. Darko-Opoku concluded with a message of compassion and unity, highlighting the Fund’s vision of collective responsibility in promoting health equity and care for all.
“Together, we are rewriting the story with compassion, unity, and care — for truly, Mahama cares,” she affirmed.
