Ghana Medical Trust Fund visits young patient at Korle-Bu, reaffirms compassionate care
The Ghana Medical Trust Fund has reaffirmed its commitment to sustained patient support following a follow-up visit to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, where officials checked on the progress of little Meshack and his mother.
The visit, which took place on Tuesday, forms part of the Fund’s ongoing effort to provide not only financial assistance but also emotional and moral support to beneficiaries and their families.
According to the Administrator of the Fund, Madam Obuobia Darko-Opoku, their initial visit to Meshack came at a critical moment when urgent medical intervention was required, and swift support was essential to saving his life.
Since then, the Ghana Medical Trust Fund has continued to monitor his condition, maintaining regular contact with the family.
During the latest visit, the team expressed encouragement at the visible improvement in Meshack’s condition and the renewed confidence of his family.
Officials noted that while Meshack’s recovery journey is not yet complete, the progress made so far has restored hope and strengthened the family’s resolve, knowing they are not facing the challenge alone.
The Fund emphasised that its mandate goes beyond disbursing financial support, stressing the importance of follow-up visits and personal engagement to ensure that care remains humane and patient-centred.
“These visits, often quiet and personal, are how we ensure that care goes beyond the paperwork and remains human,” the Administrator of the Fund stated.
The Ghana Medical Trust Fund reaffirmed its dedication to standing by patients and families throughout their medical journeys, long after public attention fades.
The team expressed optimism that with continued care and support, Meshack will make a full recovery and enjoy the carefree life every child deserves.
