The council is also working to decentralise postgraduate and basic training, and plans to introduce a new medical school in the northern sector.
'Additionally, we are revamping the systems, leveraging technology to enhance services, and engaging international partners to facilitate diaspora engagement and skills transfer.
Key initiatives include:
- Introducing a practitioner's stamp and policy to curb health insurance fraud
- Developing a standardised curriculum for medical and dental schools
- Offering postgraduate certificates, diplomas, and master's programmes in medical and dental education
- Hosting the 28th Annual Conference of the Association of Medical Councils in August 2026
