NDC chairman rescues 60 stranded patients in Twifo Praso

Mr Hakim Addae, the Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District of the Central Region, chose a unique way to celebrate his birthday.
As part of his birthday celebration, he paid an amount of Gh¢10,000.00 to settle the hospital bills of around 60 stranded patients at the Twifo Atti Morkwa District Government Hospital.
These beneficiaries included patients who were unable to cover the costs of consumables and medicines used during their treatment, as well as new mothers who were admitted but could not afford certain necessary medications.
During the presentation of the cash to the Senior Midwife of the hospital, Mr Hakim expressed his belief that in the face of the current economic challenges in the country, improved public health contributes to overall economic growth.
This belief motivated his decision to use his birthday as an opportunity to assist those in need of medical care instead of indulging in festivities.
Ms Linda Asare, the Senior Nurse in charge of the Maternity Ward, received the cash on behalf of the hospital.
She highlighted the timely nature of Mr Hakim's intervention, explaining that it not only helps patients who cannot afford their bills but also prevents these discharged patients from staying at the hospital, which could expose them to further infections.
The beneficiaries of this gesture, the patients, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Mr Hakim Addae for relieving them of their financial burden during a time of need.
They hope that others will follow his example and contribute positively to the well-being of society
