Remove taxes on essential medicines

According to DKT International's Deputy Manager of Regulatory Affairs and Pharmacovigilance, Adamu Abdullai, reducing import duties on such pharmaceuticals will encourage NGOs to cater for the health needs of rural Ghana.
Speaking to Class Business after a meeting on the safe use of medical and medicinal devices at Sunyani in the Bono Region, Mr Abdullai appealed to the government to grant tax waivers to boost healthcare delivery.
Meanwhile, the Country Director of DKT International, Mario E. Flores, has charged the government to promote the use of contraceptives to fight the HIV prevalence in the country.
