Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings engages Gaming Commission staff on Mental Health Awareness

As part of activities marking Purple Month, Ghana’s Mental Health Awareness Month, the Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, has held an interactive session with staff of the Gaming Commission to highlight the critical importance of mental well-being in the workplace and beyond.
The engagement, held in the Greater Accra Region, focused on the far-reaching implications of mental health on productivity, decision-making, and the overall quality of life.
Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings emphasised that mental health is not a luxury but a necessity, especially in high-pressure environments.
"It was a timely reminder that prioritising mental health is essential for both personal well-being and professional performance," the MP stated.
"We must continue to break the silence, reduce stigma, and create supportive environments where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued."
The initiative forms part of a broader campaign to promote awareness, reduce stigma around mental illness, and advocate for supportive policies and practices across institutions.
Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings, who has been a consistent advocate for social and health issues, encouraged the Gaming Commission and other workplaces to invest in mental health initiatives that foster a more inclusive and empathetic work culture.
Purple Month is observed annually in Ghana to draw attention to the often-overlooked subject of mental health and to promote nationwide education and advocacy.
