#2024Polls: Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko congratulates Mahama on emphatic victory

A prominent member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP),Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, has congratulated John Dramani Mahama, the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), following his resounding victory in the 2024 general elections.
Mr. Otchere-Darko’s message of congratulations came after Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s presidential candidate, delivered a concession speech acknowledging Mr. Mahama’s success in the race.
Reports from various polling stations indicate that Mr. Mahama secured a significant lead, cementing his victory though the Electoral Commission (EC) is yet to declare the results.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Mr. Otchere-Darko underscored the strength of Ghana’s democratic process and emphasised the importance of ensuring a peaceful transition of power.
He also praised the people of Ghana for their commitment to democracy, offering his full support for the transition.
“Congratulations to President-elect John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress for an emphatic victory. The people have spoken. Democracy lives. Let Ghana be the ultimate winner,” Mr. Otchere-Darko wrote.
