#2024Polls:Ofosu Nkansah calls out NPP members using inaccurate 38% figure

Former CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has criticised some members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for quoting an inaccurate 38% figure as the party’s performance in the 2024 elections.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, 8th February, he pointed out that the official results from the Electoral Commission (EC) showed that the NPP secured 41.75% (42%) of the votes, not 38% as some members have claimed.
Nkansah expressed concern that certain NPP members were deliberately using the lower figure to push their own agenda.
“If you will reduce your own Party’s percentage or use NDC propaganda figure because you want another person as flagbearer, then you are obviously not a ‘correct’ Party person,” he stated.
He criticised those within the party who, in his view, were undermining the NPP’s performance for personal or political gain.
He also called out the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for inflating their own election results.
According to him, while the NDC has been claiming they won 57% of the votes, the actual EC-certified figure was 56.42%, which mathematically cannot be rounded up to 57%.
“NDC has been using 57% meanwhile you can’t round up 56.42 to 57,” he noted, suggesting that the opposition was engaged in misleading propaganda.
As the debate over the election results continues, Nkansah urged NPP members to stick to the official figures and avoid playing into the hands of the opposition.
He emphasised that accuracy in political discourse is essential for party unity and credibility.
“We must be truthful with our own numbers and not fall for misinformation,” he concluded
