The Ashanti regional branch of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has assured the region of the government's unwavering commitment to fulfilling its developmental promises.

Augustus Nana Kwasi Andrews, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NDC, emphasised his personal responsibility to oversee the full implementation of all promises made to the region.

Addressing a press conference in Kumasi today, Monday, December 8, 2025, to commemorate the outcome of the 2024 general election, he cited the Krofrom Market project as "very dear to us" and a top priority.

He disclosed that new contractors had been awarded the project, and work was expected to resume at the site in January 2026.

Nana Kwasi assured that within the next two months, progress on the Krofrom Market would be evident, noting the strong interest of both the president and vice president in its completion.

He also stated that each of the 43 metropolitan, municipal, and district assemblies (MMDAs) had been awarded at least six development projects to date.

Projects already in progress, he noted, included Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds and hospital facilities, classroom blocks and the provision of furniture, and boreholes to improve water access.

He said the construction of the promised 24-hour economic market projects was slated to begin within the next two months, adding that projects initiated by the previous administration were also being continued.

Nana Kwasi commended President John Mahama, revealing that approximately 75 individuals from the region had already secured national appointments.

He urged other party members seeking positions to remain patient and hopeful, stressing the president's commitment and noting that three more years remained for the administration to provide opportunities.

For his part, Yakubu Mohammed, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ahafo Ano South East, assured that NDC MPs from the region would continue to vigorously advocate for and champion the realisation of developmental projects in the region.
