A/R: We're disappointed in NPP - Kumasi traders
Traders in the Kumasi Metropolis of the Ashanti region have voiced their dissatisfaction with the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the lack of development in the region.
They declared that they could no longer be taken for "fools."
The traders pointed out that despite the region's consistent support for the NPP, this loyalty has not translated into tangible development.
They feel taken for granted and asserted that they will no longer vote based on party loyalty but rather on actual development outcomes.
The traders emphasized that, despite not supporting the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the NDC has completed more projects in the region than the NPP.
During a press conference in Kumasi today, Mrs. Christabel Amoah, an executive member of the traders at Racecourse, Kejetia, and Central Markets, noted that Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as NAPO, was chosen by the NPP as the running mate to garner their support.
However, she stated that this strategy will not work, as NAPO has not demonstrated the ability to contribute to the region's development, specifically citing the stalled Krofrom market project.
Mrs. Amoah highlighted that the Krofrom market, located in NAPO's Constituency, has been abandoned for many years, showing no signs of progress and deteriorating over time.
The traders called on the NPP government to prioritize the region's development or face a massive loss in the December elections
