Accra: NPP, NDC set for final mega rallies ahead of Dec. 7 elections

Preparations are underway for the final rallies of Ghana’s two major political parties, the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), as they gear up for the December 7 general elections in the Greater Accra Region.
The NPP will hold its rally at the University of Ghana Sports Park, while the NDC will gather at Zurak Park in Madina.
Both events are expected to attract thousands of supporters, with heightened security measures implemented to ensure order and safety by the police.
The Ghana Police Service has deployed two helicopters for aerial surveillance and established traffic diversions to manage congestion and minimize the risk of clashes between supporters of the two parties.
Presidential candidates Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the NPP and John Dramani Mahama of the NDC will use the rallies to deliver their final campaign messages, seeking to rally their supporters and win over undecided voters as the nation prepares to head to the polls.
With just days to the election, the rallies are expected to set the tone for the final stretch of campaigning, underscoring the stakes and energy surrounding this pivotal contest.
