Crossfire Ghana, GCTU-TEIN hosts public lecture on gov't's 'Reset Agenda'

Crossfire Ghana, in collaboration with the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) of the Ghana Communication and Technology University (GCTU), has held a public lecture under the theme “A Conversation on Resetting the Nation.”
Delivering the keynote address, former Minister of State, Mr. Kwasi Oppong-Fosu, commended President John Dramani Mahama for his bold "resetting agenda," which he said is aimed at restoring hope and delivering meaningful development to the Ghanaian people.
Mr. Oppong-Fosu noted that the President has shown a strong commitment to youth empowerment by appointing young people into key leadership roles to help drive the national transformation agenda.
He urged the youth to take charge of shaping the future of the country, not as bystanders, but as active participants in political and national affairs.
“The youth must not be mere cheerleaders; they must get involved in the political process and contribute meaningfully to the country’s development,” he emphasised.
The former Minister also aimed at the media, accusing some outlets of pushing partisan narratives at the expense of national interest.
He called for a responsible media landscape that upholds integrity, defends the nation’s progress, and holds leaders to account.
He further stressed the critical role of both government and opposition in ensuring national growth and responsible governance, adding that a healthy democracy thrives on mutual accountability and constructive engagement.
Concluding his address, Mr. Oppong-Fosu assured Ghanaians of the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) commitment to building a nation anchored on integrity, equal opportunity, and justice for all.
