NPP holds deegates confab

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has convened its much-anticipated National Delegates Conference today at the University of Ghana Stadium, Legon, drawing nearly 6,000 delegates from across the country.

Held under the theme “Rebuilding Together with Our Values,” the conference serves as a critical turning point for the party as it reflects on its defeat in the 2024 general elections and sets a new course toward reform and revitalisation ahead of 2028.

A key highlight of the event is the consideration of sweeping constitutional amendments aimed at strengthening internal governance, enhancing grassroots participation, and improving the party's overall structure.

Chairman of the Planning Committee, Joseph Osei Owusu, revealed that more than 50 motions will be put to a vote, selected from over 300 amendment proposals submitted by members across the nation.

“These proposals have been carefully compiled into a comprehensive booklet and distributed to delegates through the Office of the General Secretary,” said the former Bekwai MP.

Voting on the proposed amendments is scheduled to conclude by 4:00 PM today.

Party officials and delegates alike view the conference as an opportunity to realign the NPP’s vision and reaffirm its core values as it prepares for the next political cycle.
