EC resolves discrepancies, assures Ghanaians of accurate Dec. 7 polls voter roll

The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced the successful resolution of all discrepancies in the 2024 Provisional Voter Register, ensuring a credible and accurate roll ahead of the upcoming general elections.
This assurance follows concerns raised by the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), which had called for a forensic audit of the register due to doubts about its accuracy.
In response, the EC conducted a comprehensive two-week review to address all anomalies.
Speaking at the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting on Tuesday, 15 October 2024, in Accra, EC Chairperson Jean Mensa emphasised the Commission’s commitment to maintaining transparency and fairness in the electoral process.
“Over the last two weeks, we have spent our energies to clean the voter register and to ensure that the information presented is accurate. Simply put, we have worked to ensure that every applicant who registered in 2023/2024 is on the voter register,” the EC chairperson stated.
She further assured the public that the revised Provisional Voter Register now reflects all corrections made, addressing discrepancies that had been raised.
“We are confident that the revised Provisional Voter Register that we present starting today is a marked departure from the register we presented during the exhibition exercise,” Mrs. Mensa noted.
She announced that from Tuesday, 15 October 2024 to Saturday, 19 October 2024, registered voters will have a second opportunity to review their details online or visit district offices to report any issues.
She also promised to provide political parties with hard drive copies of the register, along with a template to log any further concerns.
