I'll help you travel to the US if elected MP – Pius Hadzide to Asuogyaman voters

The New Patriotic Party's (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Asuogyaman, Pius Enam Hadzide, has vowed to help his constituents travel to the United States of America if elected in the upcoming December elections.
During a campaign event on Tuesday, 10 September 2024, Mr. Hadzide, who currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Youth Authority, encouraged voters to support his candidacy in the December 7 polls, with the promise of facilitating trips to the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the U.S. for his constituents.
Leveraging his extensive background in sports administration, the former Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports emphasised his unique experience and connections as crucial tools to help young people in Asuogyaman access global opportunities.
“If you, Nananom, desire for your children to travel to America to work and send money back home, or if you are a young person eager to explore opportunities abroad, I promise to support you when I become MP," Mr. Hadzide assured.
He pointed to his previous success in assisting Ghanaians to travel abroad, specifically mentioning his role in facilitating trips to Australia. He expressed confidence in his ability to provide similar avenues for his constituents, should he win the parliamentary seat.
However, Mr. Hadzide’s political journey has faced challenges. While serving as Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports, he was embroiled in the Australian Visa scandal, in which several Ghanaians were accused of posing as journalists to obtain visas for the Commonwealth Games in Australia.
Despite his suspension during the investigation, Mr. Hadzide was later exonerated and reinstated by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
