I'm neither JM's 'biggest challenger' nor 'opposed' to his 2024 candidature – Buah
The Member of Parliament (MP) of the Ellembelle constituency, Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has indicated that he has no intention of contesting the presidential primaries of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2024 elections.
A statement issued by the lawmaker on Wednesday, 9 June 2021, noted that some online news portals and pages on social media circulated news describing him as "John Mahama's biggest challenger" in the 2024 NDC race.
Mr Buah, however, described “he said report as “false, baseless and a figment of the author's own fertile imagination”.
“It should, therefore, be disregarded and treated with the contempt that it deserves”, the statement said.
He added: “I have no intention of contesting in the 2024 presidential primaries in the first place”.
“Neither am I a part of any such scheme to oppose the candidature of former President John Dramani Mahama”.
