Ketu North MP backs education and sports to empower youth

Eric Edem Agbana, Member of Parliament (MP) for Ketu North, has reaffirmed his commitment and passion to transforming education and sports within the Ketu North municipality of the Volta region for youth development and growth.
Thus, in partnership with the Centre for Best Grade Assessment, Agbana has launched a special mock examination for Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates across the constituency.
The initiative, which kicked off today, Monday, May 19, 2025, is designed to help students evaluate their preparedness ahead of the national exams.
“This mock exam is a crucial step in boosting educational standards among our students,” the MP emphasised.
“We want every candidate to feel confident and well-prepared for the final exams hence my commitment to ensuring that.”
On the sporting front, the MP also revealed 110 student-athletes and 16 officials from Ketu North had safely arrived in Hohoe to participate in the Inter-District Sports Festival.
In a bid to support the team, he provided GHS20,000 in funding and donated 50 mattresses to ensure the athletes were properly accommodated and equipped.
“We are committed to supporting both academic and athletic talents,” Agbana noted.
“Our young athletes deserve every opportunity to succeed, and we are proud to stand behind them.”
He also extended heartfelt wishes to all BECE candidates and athletes, while praising the dedication of educators across the constituency.
“I deeply appreciate the tireless efforts of our teachers. Their commitment remains the foundation of our community’s progress,” he said.
MP Agbana’s combined support for education and sports highlights his broader vision to empower the youth of Ketu North through holistic development and opportunity.
