NDC Chairman urges Odumase residents to prioritize development over tradition

The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has called on the people of Odumase in the Sunyani West Constituency of the Bono Region to prioritize development over traditional political loyalties.
Addressing a gathering of artisans at a mini rally in Odumase as part of his two-day campaign tour in the Bono Region, Mr. Asiedu Nketia criticized the lack of tangible development in the area despite years of support for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He highlighted the historical connection between the NPP and Odumase, noting that former President Prof. Kofi Abrefa Busia, who founded the NPP, appointed J.H Mensah, an Odumase native, during his administration.
However, he questioned what substantive development the NPP had brought to Odumase since then.
“After all these years of loyalty to the NPP, what significant projects have they brought to Odumase?
It’s time to vote for progress, not tradition,” he stated.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia urged the people to vote for NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama and the party’s Parliamentary Candidate for the Constituency, Millicent Yeboah Amankwaa, who hails from Odumase.
He encouraged them to make history by electing Millicent to Parliament, emphasizing that such a decision would usher in meaningful change for the community.
Highlighting the NDC's apprenticeship programme, Mr. Asiedu Nketia outlined plans to support artisans by providing resources to help them establish and expand their businesses while creating opportunities for others to learn trades.
He expressed confidence that this initiative would significantly address unemployment challenges in the country.
“If you give us your support, I will make Odumase my personal project.
Let’s work together to bring real development to this community,” the Chairman pledged.
