V/R: Agortime-Ziope DCE pushes down communicator at NPP Chairman’s wife funeral

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Agortime-Ziope in the Agotime Ziope district of the Volta Region, Emelia Adzimah, has been receiving backlash after she slapped and pushed down a party communicator of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dzifa Doris Kaledzi, at the final funeral rites of the late wife of the Ho Central Constituency Chairman, Frank Ahaze.
The incident occurred on Saturday, 3 June, 2023, at the Police Training School Park in Ho.
An eyewitness, Charlotte Kumi, narrated the incident to Polymath Agbanyo on the Adanu Morning Show on Ho 92.5 FM said: “We were all seated including the Hon. DCE when Dzifa Doris Kaledzi, the leader of the NPP Loyal Ladies and the team arrived at the funeral. They were ushered to sit at place and they would have to pass through the DCE's lane to their location. The first and the second ladies passed by the DCE to occupy their seats and when Dzifa was passing and upon reaching the Hon. DCE'S place, she stretched out her legs blocking the way.
“So, Dzifa who was surprised by the act of the DCE, politely pleaded with her to take off her legs so she can walk to take her seat and what we heard and saw was that the DCE used the funeral brochure to slap Dzifa and pushed her down.”
Ms Kumi noted the scene was so bad it took the swift intervention of other party members to restore calm.
The funeral which was attended by some big wigs and flagbearer hopefuls of the NPP, including Alan Kyerematen and Kennedy Agyapong was nearly marred because of the incident.
It was unclear what actually caused the incident between the DCE and the leader of the NPP Loyal Ladies, as both were not ready to comment on the issue when contacted by Ho FM.
The former Ho Central Constituency Women Organiser, is currently receiving treatment at a facility in Ho and is responding to treatment according Madam Kumi.
