We've absolute confidence in Ato Forson’s ability to perform excellently as minority leader – C/R NDC

The Central Regional branch of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has congratulated Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, on his elevation as Minority Leader in Parliament.
According to the Central Regional NDC, Dr Forson’s elevation to Minority Leader amplifies his hard work in contributing to the cause of the party.
“Dr Forson’s elevation offers ample testament to his hard work and dedication to the cause of the NDC in Parliament and in Ghana in general over the years.
“He joins [a] distinguished array of sons and daughters of the region, who have brought honour to the region through their meteoric rise to various offices,” the Central Regional NDC noted in a statement issued on Tuesday, 24 January 2023.
It continued: “We have absolute confidence in Dr Forson’s ability to perform excellently in his new role of leading the Minority in Parliament to keep the marauding and underperforming Akufo-Addo government in check and subject them to strict legislative oversight and scrutiny to protect the Ghanaian people from the abysmal and appalling governance they have offered.”
The group also acknowledged the immediate past Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu, and his team for their “significant contributions” to the NDC and the country’s Parliamentary democracy.
The NDC has changed the leadership of its caucus in parliament.
A letter to the Speaker of Parliament to that effect signed by General Secretary Fifi Kwetey announced Dr Forson as the new Minority Leader.
He is to be assisted by Mr Emmanual Armah Kofi Buah as Deputy Minority Leader.
This means Mr James Klutse Avedzi, the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, is no longer the Deputy Minority Leader.
The statement named a new Minority Whip in the person of Mr Kwame Agbodza who replaces Muntaka Mubarak.
The First Deputy Whip remains Mr Ibrahim Ahmed and the Second Deputy Whip remains Comfort Doyoe Ghansah.
The statement said the “new leadership would be charged to recommend consequential changes in the Ranking membership to the headquarters of the party for approval.”
