Yaw Osei Adutwum declares intent to contest NPP flagbearership for 2028

Former Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has formally announced his intention to contest the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer position ahead of the 2028 general elections.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, May 1, Dr. Adutwum touted his achievements and outlined his vision for national transformation, positioning himself as the party’s best chance for electoral victory.
“In the silence of the noise, one man’s record speaks louder than mere campaign chants.
One man’s impact echoes across every region. One man’s vision is what Ghana needs for a total Ghanaian transformation. #TheAdutwumFactor,” he posted.
Renowned for his technocratic leadership and bold educational reforms, Dr. Adutwum has built a reputation as a results-oriented public servant.
His entry into the flagbearer race is expected to shake up the internal dynamics of the NPP and intensify competition once nominations are officially opened.
Political observers anticipate a highly contested primary as the NPP looks to regroup and position itself strongly for the 2028 elections.
